Day 10 - 5/12/2006 : I laughed, I cried, I threw up a little bit.

I finally added up all of my HU SnG stats for the last few sessions. I'm now 22 and 14 for a win-rate of 61% and change. My focus has switched from HU SNG to cash games and tournaments, so don't expect many more HU SnG updates.

Part of my downswing between days 7,8,9 was in part due to playing Single Table Sit-N-Gos. This was part of my master plan when I peaked over $1000.

5/5/2006:
2 $30 SnGs - No money

5/6/2006:
1 $30 SnG: No money
1 $20 SnG: No money
1 $10 90 person MTT: I played this mainly because I wanted to play against Andy Bloch. I surpassed him. I took 4th (I think) for $90.

Bottom line, I need to stay the fuck away from Single Table Tournaments.

Not sure if I'm calling it quits for tonight, but I'm definitely taking a break for a while. Just finished up a MTT in which I played superbly. I got nothing in the way of hands and made my whole stack on pure aggression. I must say I was apprehensive about playing this tournament when I noticed that the tourny had exactly the same amount of people as the tourny I played 2 nights ago (another guarantee - 932). In that tournament I lose at the final table as a 92% favorite on the flop when AA meet JJ on a Q82 flop. A Jack turns. Needless to say, that steaming hunk of shit of a hand has been boiled in my brain. Any reminder of that tournament makes me throw up. The tournament fires up and it gets interesting early.

I saw one of the craziest hands I've seen in a while:

Fuck me in the eye. Twice in this tournament. I had a great stack, now I have an average stack. Almost immediately I start playing some ultra-aggressive poker. To be honest, I think there was some tilt mixed in, but mostly I was playing the same way I was to get my stack. Then this hand happens...

I liked my bet on the flop. Any player worth their keep would have taken more time than this assclown did before calling. If he calls, I'm still in very good shape against his range. He obviously did. The turn and the river were strategically designed to give me a hardon, and then show me pictures of Kathy Liebert naked on the river. Kathy Liebert is the antidote to Viagra.

Just to recap:

THE TURN

THE RIVER

In other news, my cash game is still good. My 6-max is on fire. I quad-stacked in about 90 minutes. I played very aggressive and got caught making an awesome bluff. It was so well set up, that the 2nd nut straight had to tank for a long time before calling (flop was 3 clubs, I had AcKx) on the river. The way I played my draw was exactly the same as someone who flopped a flush. I had put my opponent on an overpair, and I was right, so I pushed over him on the river. Unfortunately, his pocket pair wasn't that much of an overpair and he had connected with the river to make a straight. The point was, it is sometimes better to get caught than to get away with a bluff. A different guy at the table called me down with Queen high in one hand. Needless to say, I got a ton of action from him.

I don't have a very large sample size for 6-max but I'm at 25BB/100 and it actually seems sustainable.

Full ring was boring. Nits, nits and more nits. I think I'm going to switch to 6-max exclusively, but we'll see.

Today's finishing bankroll: $1,144.97
